The Pope Valley Volunteer Fire Department wants to thank Andrea Garcia, and 8th Grade student at Pope Valley School. When the Pope Valley Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a fire at a home on Pope Valley Road, communicating with the residents in the home was difficult until Andrea, aged 13, stepped forward and let the firefighters know that she speaks both English and Spanish fluently and that she would be willing to translate. Within an hour, the fire was extinguished without loss of life or further incident.

Andrea joined Pope Valley School in second grade and she is usually on of the quietest students in the school. She is a bright, diligent student who has gained in confidence over the years, and she is ready to be a really successful high school student next year. We are so proud of her!
